• 4th Annual Tour de Taco Highlights

Yesterday we filled our faces with tacos and biked our legs off  on the 4th Annual Tour de Taco. This year’s ride included the following neighborhoods and spots. Route link is at the bottom.

    • Sunset Park – Tacos El Bronco, Tacos Matamoros
    • Prospect Heights – Kimchi Grill
    • Bushwick – Tortillaria Mexicana Los Hermanos
    • Queens – Tortas Neza & El Globo

Since we were such a large group, we split into three different routes. Only one group made it to the end and one added their own spot in Queens, St. James Deli on 34th Ave and 34th St.

My favorite tacos included the chorizo taco at El Bronco and the pollo taco at Los Hermanos. Our group didn’t quite make it to Queens this year and opted for beers after Bushwick’s Los Hermanos. Tortas Neza turned out to be closed and moved to a truck on Roosevelt and 111st, but other than that we all had a lovely time and raised some money for The Youth Farm while we were at it. All in all, it was a successful ride filled with good folks, delicious tacos and cold beers.

Big thanks goes to Tishon for always helping to organize, Dan and Alex for being fearless ride leaders and Bee for helping promote The Youth Farm and bringing us flowers. I’m ever grateful for our cycling community and the wonderful human beings it brings into my life.

Tour de Taco, why have I never considered this before! I probably have a personal tour de taco every week without even realizing…. Sounds like such a great ride. Really enjoyed the blog and the pics. Also great to have another route to explore. If you ever have a need our bike shop has some tour bikes that we’re happy to lend to you for tour use (at no charge). Let’s keep in touch, best – jack
