Want to join the bike fun this summer but don’t have a bike? Downtown Alliance is providing the public with free bicycle rentals which can be picked up at the Bike and Roll kiosk at the South Street Seaport.
There are 30 free bikes available during each of the three sessions, Monday through Sunday. The sessions are as follows: 9:30AM – 12:00PM, 12:30PM – 3:00PM and 3:30PM – 6:00PM.

Additionally, 200 orange, Dutch-style bicycles are coming to New York as part of the 400th anniversary of the Henry Hudson’s landing in New York City.

The Dutch bicycles will be made available to the public at a number of times throughout the year: a special bike sharing event Sept. 8-12; the New Island Festival on Governors Island Sept. 10-20; and the start of New York’s Harbor District on Sept 13. Of the 200 orange bicycles (which have 400 wheels), 120 are adult-sized, with the remainder medium and small. The bikes, which retail for $799, are made by Batavus.
